In my opinion, I think this song is about Amy Lee’s sister who died at the age of three. Take the first line, “You don’t remember me but I remember you” This implies that Amy remembers well about the things she did with her sister who she loved very much, but her sister was so young and she is no longer living that she can’t remember anything. The chorus and name of the song are saying that Amy Lee’s thoughts are taking over her head and she can’t do anything else but think about her sister. The song shows deep emotion of how she wants to be with her sister again. In the second verse the word ‘mourning’ Is used and that there is love still lingering there for the lost sister. In conclusion, I think the song is basically about her love for her sister and how its possessing her into something she doesn’t want to be.
