Amy Winehouse Dead At 27 .

Unfortunately these are the last news about Amy Winehouse,as she has been found dead at her house,today July 23, 2011.At times, writing about the news in the music business is one of the most fun jobs there is in the world. And at times, writing about news in the music business just rips your heart out, lays your emotions at your feet and makes you shake your head and ask yourself the simple question, WHY? Today my friends is one of those times. In case you’ve been away from all major news sources, the top story is that Amy Winehouse is dead at the ripe young age of 27.

The official statement, according to Britains Sky News, from the Metropolitan Police in London discloses that at 16:05 hours London time, police were called to an address in Camden Square (North London) by London Ambulance Service in response to a report from the paramedics that a female was apparently found dead in a townhouse. It was also reported that upon arriving at the scene, the young female was beyond help and no efforts at reviving the female were undertaken. That female, was Amy Winehouse.

Pending investigation by authorities, the official cause of death is being left at “unexplained”. But let’s be realistic, not many eyebrows will be raised if the toxicology reports find that Amy finally took one to many pills.

We all know of her fight with the demons of alchohol and pills. It seems that once Amy became thrust into the spotlight after her “Back In Black” album was released in the US back in 2007, culminating with winning 5 Grammys in 2008 including Song of The Year for “Rehab” and Best New Artist, her fights with her addictions became even more magnified. In and out clinics only to spiral back down into the depths of booze and drugs. Shows being cancelled. Performances that were total disappointments. In fact it became so bad that a month ago, Winehouse cancelled her remaining European tour dates after a performance in Belgrade that could only be described as outright pitiful.

Maybe we should have gotten an early glimpse of what was to come when in 2007 Amy told the Associated Press in an interview after “Back In Black” was released and started to gain notoriety “I didn’t go out looking to be famous. I’m only a musician”.

“everyone who was involved with Amy is shocked and devastated.” said Chris Goodman,her spokesman.

Some people can wear the regal cloak of fame and fortune. Some get eaten alive and consumed by it. Amy was one of those.

A sad day indeed. Rest In Peace Amy Winehouse.
