Katy Perry Turns G.I Jane In The New Video For “Part of Me”

Attention and listen up all you Song On recruits! That’s a little bit of military talk and here is why. Katy Perry cuts off her hair and joins the marines in the brand new video for her latest single “Part of Me”. Sounds pretty interesting and odd, wouldn’t you say? With us being used to seeing her in fancy, elegant outfits in her previous videos, this new one comes as quite a shocker, especially considering the fact that she cuts off her hair, binds her chest and runs off with the Marine Corps. Semper Fi Katy!

What drove her to do such a thing? Well, the reason isn’t that big of a shock. In the new clip, Katy is being cheated on by her boyfriend (men are such pigs at times), so as any angry woman in love would do, she takes a radical decision to change her life. “Part of Me” is a really good break-up song and the video couldn’t fit it better and once you watch it, I’m sure you’ll agree.

You may be wondering if Katy filmed everything on a set or opted to go “real”. Well, for this new clip, the “Firework” hitmaker really did join the Marine Corps throughout the entire filming session. Everything took place for several days at a genuine Marine boot camp. After the entire shooting session was wrapped up, Katy only had words of praise for her temporary colleagues, declaring that:

“It’s an affirmation of strength, so I wanted to go the strongest route I ever could, I was like, I’m gonna join the Marines. “We used only Marines. For three days I was a wannabe Marine which was so difficult. There people work hard and work out. I learned how to flip someone. I learned how to flip them on their back. I just love it and I think people really respond to it.”
