David used to be overweight during the time when he began performing with a country band. Five years ago, he met his dream girl and cleaned up his life. Currently, David helps raise their 2 children.

Fun Facts
During the blind auditions, David sang “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King. Cee Lo Green was the only judge to push the button for him.

He won his battle round singing “She’s Gone” by Hall and Oates against Todd Kessler and then won his knockout round singing “Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae against Mycle Wastman.

During the playoff round, he sang “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything” by Barry White. He was one of the top 2 vote-getters from Team Cee Lo and he moves on as one of the top 12.

He performed “The Power of Love” by Huey Lewis and the News for his Top 12 performance and was voted through to the next round.

David then sang “Lean on Me” by Bill Withers for his Top 8 performance and was once again voted to the next round.

For the next round, David performed “What’s Going On” by Marvin Gaye, which gave him his first top 10 hit on iTunes.
