Maroon 5 - I Shall Be Released Lyrics

Maroon 5 have contributed with their own version of "I Shall Be Released" to a promotional compilation which honors Bob Dylan. Almost 80 artists have contributed to the anniversary album: "Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan: Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International", and out of all of the songs, the band chose this one and turned it in to a slow tempo jam which does justice to the original.

Maroon 5 – I Shall Be Released Lyrics

They say everything can be replaced
Yet every distance is not near
So I remember every face
Of every man who put me here
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released

They say every man needs protection
They say every man must fall
Yet I swear I see my reflection
Some place so high above this wall
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released

Standing next to me in this lonely crowd
Is a man who swears he’s not to blame
All day long I hear him shout so loud
Crying out that he was framed
I see my light come shining
From the west unto the east
Any day now, any day now
I shall be released

[Maroon 5 – I Shall Be Released Lyrics]
