Katy Perry Is “Wide Awake” In Her Brand New Video

It’s been a long wait but Katy Perry’s finally premiered her new video for “Wide Awake”, her latest hit single. Hold on to your seats, cause we’re in for a bumpy ride! The clip will take us all to a fairytale realm in which the lovely Katy Perry seems to be trapped.

The freshly premiered clip seems to be a recap of Katy’s “Teenage Dream” era but, as some have put it, it also appears to be some sort of closure clip. It’s pretty obvious that the charming blue eyed songstress wants to close the books on her past, and start fresh.

As soon as you’ll start watching, you’ll realize that the video is pretty autobiographical… we have the “Teenage Dream” beginning, where we get to see Katy at the alleged photoshoot for the cover and posters of “California Gurls”, after that, she carries on to her normal business, only to get pulled in to an alter-reality, a magical world in which we get flashbacks of the “Firework” video, but we also have completely new elements that make the video even juicier.

For example, we get to see a mini version of Katy, and even though the kiddo has great eyes, we’re not sure Perry’s eyes could ever be matched. Surely, by the time you get to meet small Katy, you will have realized that the whole scenery looks more than familiar… Well, if you can’t exactly place your finger on it, we’re here to tell you that for the last video off “Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection”, Katy Perry has decided to reenact Lewis Carroll’s oh-so famous, “Alice Through A Looking Glass” book.

We don’t know about you guys, but we just love what Katy’s done to her hair! Not only does she look fabulous throughout the movie-like video, but she also manages to get across a pretty powerful message.

When asked about the video, Katy declared that:

“I just wanted to tell a story about myself going through this journey, maybe sometimes trying to get out of the maze. There’s good parts; there’s bad parts. Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome. I think what probably kept me going is just the purity of my belief in music.”
