Bei Maejor Biography

Bei Maejor (born July 23, 1987), is a producer, songwriter and a recording artist. He has produced for many artists including Trey Songz, Sean Kingston, Chrisette Michelle, Bun B, LeToya Luckett, Ne-yo, Monica, Ginuwine, Plies, Diggy Simmons with many other productions in the pipeline for release. He has produced soundtracks for two movies Bratz: The Movie in 2007 and the Disney movie The Princess and the Frog in 2009.

Starting to work at an age when most are frittering away their high school days, Bei Maejor took to arranging music like a natural. “Around ninth grade I started messing around on my computer, imitating what I heard on the radio. My grandfather was a concert pianist, but no one else in my family played anything. ”Thanks to the easy access and broad reach of the Internet, Bei Maejor’s career gained speed. “I had a website, I just started on computers, I’d sell a track, make $50, $100, and I started to buy equipment. I ended up on a DJ Big Mike mix tape, eventually Troy Taylor got a hold of it, found me and signed me.”

Bei Maejor graduated from the prestigious University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2008. These activities made him a rising star on campus where he was featured in magazines and articles-see articles below in external links. After graduation he moved to Atlanta and joined the Compound Entertainment team working with Ne-yo.

His up-beat production and song-writing styles have been well received by artists and fans alike.

Maejor was signed by Jive Records in January 2010 as a recording artist. He was featured on the official remix for Ciara’s hit single “Ride with Andre 3000”. He was also featured on Plies’ hit single “She Got It Made” singing the hook and chorus. Maejor is currently working on his Jive album which will have a late 2010 release. He also released a mixtape titled “Upside down” on August 4, 2010.
